Abbotsford House Hope Scott Wing is a detached luxury wing located 3 miles from Melrose, and 1 mile from the new terminus of the Borders Railway, Tweedbank. The property was once the home of the novelist and poet Sir Walter Scott. The villa offers self-catering accommodation comprising of 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and 1 dressing room. There are 2 sitting rooms, a library, 2 kitchens, a formal dining room, a games room, and other facilities such as a grand piano and flat-screen TVs. There is WiFi throughout and iPod docking stations throughout. A hot tub can be ordered on request for an additional charge. Bike hire and car hire can be arranged for guests, and the property can also provide you with contacts for golfing, horse riding, fishing, off-roading, mountain biking, hill walking and other activities in the area. Guests get private out-of-hours access to the walled gardens, terraces, water meadow and woodlands of the Abbotsford Grounds. A free self-guided tour of Abbotsford is available for all guests staying in the wing. Guests also get access to the family's private chapel. Toiletries, water, linen and towels and laundry facilities are all included in your stay. In the kitchen, you will find tea, coffee, milk, condiments and cling-film. There is a  barbecue and a fire pit which can be used in the courtyard. Wood for the fire is provided but barbecue charcoal is not. Additional housekeeping and award-winning catering, both formal and informal, can also be arranged for an additional fee.
