La Catalina

Located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, at the foot of a mountain, the hotel is close to the small town of Cabrera, a few minutes from the sandy Playa Grande and the golf course and only about 80 minutes from Puerto Plata Airport. Built in 1988 this guesthouse hotel offers picturesque views of the ocean and the surrounding countryside, along with luxurious tropical gardens, fine cuisine and first-class personalized services. It comprises a total of 30 rooms, and facilities on offer to guests include a bar. Each room features a balcony or patio, a full-size bed, air conditioning, cable TV, a safe (extra cost), a telephone, a kitchenette with fridge and a fully-equipped en suite bathroom. There is an outdoor swimming pool on the hotel grounds and the hotel offers scuba-diving and snorkelling, deep sea fishing, excursions into the countryside with a typical Dominican meal included, boat trips on the Gri-Gri Laguna, countryside tours, a visit to a bird colony, a guided tour of the inn's gardens, horse riding (Abreu's Stables) and hiking. These activities are not included and incur an extra charge. There is a golf course just a 10-minute drive away (charges apply). Guests may also relax with a massage or enjoy a game of tennis. Breakfast and dinner are included, with a great variety of dishes, served in a stylish ambience.
